This historic brand was born in Stockport in the 40s - the idea of Tibby Wegner and Fred Perry. In 1952 they launched what became the iconic symbol of the English brand: a cotton pique polo shirt with a laurel wreath embroidered on the chest. Fred Perry in the 60s soon became a symbol of elegance and style for the sporty and casual fashion set and its vaulted position in the UK subculture has never diminished.
